Snuggling deeper into my chair, I squeak slightly as I stretch my claws towards the "post" button. "This will be my first composition," I squeal excitedly. As my tiny paws clutch the enormous screen, the light in the room suddenly goes out.
"W-who's there?" I yelp quietly, my eyes struggling to strain through the midnight blanket that seems to have shrouded my view.
Suddenly, a glowing pair of emerald eyes emerge, glinting from the corner of the room and slowly making their way towards me. I cower, shivering violently on my tiny rug, pulling the miniature chair I had stolen from the human's doll's house in front of me.
"Your first piece of writing, hm?" The hiss escapes from the gap in between the feline's cold lips a view inches from mine. "Well, that's just purrrfect," it drawled. "It will be your last, too."
The cat swung its claws at me ferociously, grazing my soft cheek, the chilling gust of air produced by the swing stinging the cuts. "Y-you'll have to squeak up, I didn't quite h-hear you!" I stutter, diving for cover, the shattering and splintering of my miniature furniture bringing tears to my eyes.
"I'm afraid I'm not 'feline' in the mood for your mischief today, mouse," the cat snarls and croaks as it snaps its huge jaws centimetres from my whiskers. I quiver at the wall of my once-neat establishment, paws trembling as I spot the screen, cracked out of the corner of my eye. I squint in the murky darkness for signs of the beast getting ready to pounce, and grasp a nearby shard of debris. I glimpse a large, furred paw by the screen's light, and panicking, I make my move.
Hurling the piece of my most expensive mahogany desk at the device, the twinkle in the glowing eyes of the feline vanishes. The familiar sound bite of noise cuts through the silence. My writing had uploaded.
"AARGH!" The cat's features twist as the sound pierces into the back of its eyes, their glowing ceases and the light in my now ruined accommodation reappears.
"I'll be back mouse, mark my wordssss." The hiss drags out, as the now seemingly small cat fades from the scene. I chuckle softly to myself.
"Opuss really will be an adventure."
