Rogan let out a scream of agony at the arrow was driven into the back of his shoulder. He stumbled into a tree, listening to the hunter laugh in victory.

Leela leaped from her hiding place, her blue eyes wide in shock to see the Arrow in Rogan's shoulder, blood soaking through his thin cotton shirt. She took his hand running as fast as she could, leading half-conscious Rogan. She pulled him behind a massive boulder. She propped rogan against the rock. "Use your powers before her gets to us.." He gasped, listening to the hoofbeats, which gradually got louder. Leela closed her eyes, inhaling, and raised her hands. Slowly, all of the roots raised from the ground, the vines from around the trees moved, and intertwined wall. The hunter's horse stopped in front, rearing, pawing the air with it's powerful hooves. Leela stared into Rogans dark green eyes, the were clouding over. The hunter cursed. Leela began to feel tired, her ability to control nature was exhausting. "I'll be back. You cannot hide forever." The hunter growled, turning around, and running back up through the trees. Rogan stared at her, admiring her beauty. "You have to go leela. It's not safe. They won't stop until they get you." "What about you rogan! And your power? They want you too?" "Not if I'm dying." A tear rolled down her cheek. "We still need Thomas and Astra." She said. "The rest of us are dead, they burned the camp. I need to pull the arrow out." She said, eyes wide. She gently gripped it. "Ready? One.. Two.. Three!" She yelled, yanking it out. "Arghh!" Rogan screamed in agony. "I know herbs I can search for. Stay here. Stay awake." She said. He slowly laid on the cool damp forest floor, watching his lover leave through their little safe haven of roots and vines. He looked at the bright, cloudless sky, he began to see black spots. He closed his eyes, giving in to the dark unconscious world, as he fell into a dark, endless pit.
