Dreaming of you and your face,

And of me in my dress of lace,

Standing on the isle ever so holy,

Our eyes focusing on one another solely,

Family and friends gaze,

Parents saying its only a phase,

'They'll never last',

They whispered as they passed,

Your hazel eyes gazing softly into mine,

It was only a matter of time,

Until you went away to war,

I didn't see you anymore,

I missed your words and care,

Me-stroking your jet black hair,

Endless nights of steamy wonder,

But now all I can do is ponder,

On how that one bullet killed my Joe,

And left me feeling ever so low,

I miss your caressed hands,

And your constant food demands,

'Make me this make me that'

But you never got fat,

Muscular and lean,

All the girls were keen,

But I was the one out of all of them,

You were on the mend,

But never made it,

Oh Joe here I sit,

Missing you.
