Don't be reckless with other people's hearts, and don't put up with those who are reckless with yours. - Mary Schmich
This quote really hit a nerve with me this morning. Mostly because I woke up to crazy late night text messages on my phone then read this and was like "whoa!" To me it just seems so much more clear now that my life was being driven by crazy thoughts and ideas - by me. And how fortunate I am to have a God so loving to say, "Girl, move over and let me drive!"
I believe. I believe that all things have purpose and meaning. I believe that if we take a step back that we can find a more fullness and satisfaction in life. I believe that now is my time to hand over my troubles and pains so that I can be guided to a better way of life. I believe that if you had asked me 4 months or 4 years ago, "Steph, do you have faith in life & God?" I would have sarcastically mouthed off and allowed my shortcomings to shroud the good things working in my life - The God that still loves me in this life. So now, back to the quote, read it again: Don't be reckless with other people's hearts, and don't put up with those who are reckless with yours. This is a lot like the Golden Rule - do unto others as you would have them do unto you. If I continue to allow people that are unhealthy for me to keep distracting my determination - I am allowing them to distract me from his will. His, being God. His will, his way. He drives this crazy bus, and dang it, I'm cashing in on my ticket this time and I'm going to enjoy the ride! So dear sweet friends that believe in drunk texting me - please stop - and if you cannot control your tongue - just erase me until I contact you. Your behavior is not helping or solving anything. It hurts me. It makes me feel worthless to you. And although during your alcohol induced haze you believe reaching out to me is a sign of love, right now, to me, it's a sign of recklessness to our relationship and my current life driver! His will, his way. Please respect my heart and my driver.
Don't be reckless to other peoples lives. Respect and accept the road I have travelled and the direction I am currently unearthing. And in return, we won't be reckless. It's like karma, man. Good things can happen from good actions.
Enough rambling this morning.
Letting go and letting God... Drive me! Amen.
