Here I sit, less than week (if, fingers cross, all goes to plan) before the release of my debut album - Quando Diciamo Addio - and I reflect upon some of the things that have been said about, not only my own work, but that of establish classical artists as well.

When I did my first composition, many people said that they believed I could be famous because of it. The more I composed, the more people said this sort of thing. I was very flattered, as I never look at my work with such an eye. Composition is something I do out of expression, and also for other very personal reasons. Let's just say, it's my release.

Before I ever started to compose, I would show people my favourite classical music by established artists and they'd say "if you'd have written that, you'd be made for life". Despite the piece in question being smack-in-the-gob beautiful, I thought "the piece may have the potential to do well and be loved by millions, but if I'd have written it, no one would know it existed".

Let's just say my album could be released under the name of one of the greatest and most loved people in the world of this style of classical, how well would it do then? What reception would it receive then?

I firmly believe in supporting unsigned artists. Just because you've never heard of them, doesn't mean you shouldn't give them the time of day. Always remember that when you walk past a busker. Always remember than when you see people walking down the street with a guitar on their back. These people, these ordinary people, may've written something that could have the power to move nations…
