The fire was glowing bright yellow the flames licking at the corrugated roof. " I cant let this happen! " I shouted over the roaring flame " I just cant! "
Right then I lost control I hurtled through the blazing doorway and into the smoky room beyond I ripped a strip off my shirt spat in it and tied it around my mouth and squinted around in the swirls of greyish smoke filling the room.
Where were jack and Lucie? I ran blindly forward through the smoke and stopped at a door on my right it had rusted golden letters on the door STUDY it said yes! I thought this is where I left them to search the files. I rammed open the door and scanned the room no no the files were all over the floor alight and burning. Adrenaline rushed through me why why? Had they done this why? I stumbled out the door gasping for fresh air on my left another door said CASE 14 It was locked on my right another CASE 16 then a dead end.
Then lucies letter flashed into my mind "we will be in CASE 15 checking through the documents up there ..." the rest was irrelevant where was CASE 15 ?
That's where Lucie and Jack were ...surely...
