It was the year 1939. War had begun. Liberty and her two brothers were playing in the garden. 'Go Thomas !! Run into the Anderson shelter!' Charlie however ran in front and got to it first. Woo woo woo woo. The alarm went off. Liberty gathered up her brothers and waited for her mum to come out. Their mother came rushing out. Looking worried, what was the matter with her? She said that nothing had happened and don't worry about anything . Just at that moment a bomb the size of a jet crashed down into London city with a loud BOOM! 'Cover your ears children!' mother said.
*************** Did the bombing stop? Yes but only for a little while, before germany would start invading Britain again. 'Children come with me to the train station' the children were confused . She put them on the train with their gas masks and toys and waved good bye but as the train took its first puff of steam she said that their dad was dead and she will never see the children again...
We'll never know how the children got on or if the end of the story was happy. But we do know they were safe in the countryside.
