"TESSA!!!" Kat screeches. "ELLIE!!!" The girl screams. They run to each other and embrace. What the heck just happened? "Tessa?" I catiously walk up to the two stepsisters. "Is that really you?" "Autumn!" Tessa runs over to me and hugs me. "Yes, it's me. I was so worried about you two." "Me too!" Kat squeels. Tessa pulls back from me. "Listen, we can't talk long. She don't know that I know you two are here. Me and Keleb were put in an orphanage, then this woman adopted us. She's really mean, and moved us here." a light flips on inside the house. "I have to go now. I'll sneak out at 2:00 in the morning. Bye." Tessa runs inside. "Come on." I herd Kat away to our house. "But I wanna see Tessa..." Kat whines. "You will. Tonight. Better go sleep now- you'll be up really early." "Okay." Kat runs off to her room and I flop down on an old chair. Wow. Our new neighbors are Tessa and Keleb. How lucky are we to meet up again? But Tessa said that her adopted mom is really mean... What does she do to them? How come I haven't seen Keleb? Wait- Is Kalvin Keleb? I sigh and put my head in my hands. "Is everything alright?" Summer asks, coming into the room. Should I tell her? Oh, why not. "Our new neighbors are Tessa and Keleb." I rush. Summer laughs. "Don't be ridiculous-" "No! I'm not kidding! Kat and I just talked with Tessa! The new kid in my class is probably Keleb! Tessa and Keleb are coming over to our house tonight at 2!" I yell. "And?" I stand up quickly. "You don't get it!" "Autumn. Look at me." "NO!" I run upstairs and slam the door. The house shakes. Oh, not a good idea in this old, falling-down house. Why doesn't Summer get how important this is to Kat? Or even me? It just isn't fair!

It's 1:54. Almost time for Tessa and Keleb to come. "Wake up." I shake Kat awake. "Whaaaaaat?" Kat whines. "Do you want to see Tessa and Keleb?" "Yeah!" Kat jumps up. That worked. We quietly tiptoe downstair, careful not to wake up Summer. I open the shades and look out the window. No lights are on in Keleb and Tessa's house. "When are they coming?" Kat whines again. "Quiet! Soon." We stand in silence for about 10 minutes. I'm about to drift off when I hear a tapping sound on the window. I jerk awake and pull open the window. Tessa is standing outside. "Tessa!" Kat squeels. "Not so loud!" I scold. "Yeah." Keleb smiles. "Hey Autumn." I was right! He is Kalvin! "Hi. How did you guys get out here? I know about the orphanage, but..." "Right. So, we fell aleep in one of those huts in Kwena, you know? And aparently they were enchanted or something so only Samuel could wake us up. When he did, we were in an orphanage not on the Alps, and you know what happend next. Oh yeah, and our new stepmom is always talking about something like Edeniss or something... you know what that is?" Tessa explains. "Oh no... It's Eldonist. It's a really bad group that is trying to kill Kat." "Kat?" "Oh, that's what Ellie goes by now. "Okay..." "We can't let you live with an Eldonist. I was thinking that maybe we could help you escape the Eldonist." I say. "And how are you going to do that?" "Just listen." I explain it to them. "That might just work." Tessa considers this. "That really might work!" "Yeah!" Kat screams. I hear footsteps upstairs. "You guys have to go now." I put my hands on the window. "Talk about at school tomorrow?" "Yep." Keleb answers. "Bye." I shut the window just as Summer comes downstairs. "Why are you two up?" she asks. "Kat was thirsty so I got her a glass of milk!" I say automatically. Should I have said that? "We don't have milk..." Summer narrows her eyes at me. Shoot. "Which is why I got her some water instead!" I explain quickly. I'm horrible at this. Summer stares at me, then her eyes sparkle. Dang it! "Alright, but go to bed now. No more getting up." Kat and I trod upstairs. I slip into my bed. I can't believe Tessa and Keleb are right next door, and we might be able to escape with them! I can't wait. Not at all.
