22 December 2012

Nothing happened. "What?" The lady pulled the trigger again. Still nothing. I almost laugh when I realized what happened. The gun was empty; it had no bullets. Realizing how much the lady is worried about her gun, I lunge at her. I haven't had training in about a week, so I'm a little rusty. I manage to get that lady's hand off Ellie's wrist, which doesn't look too good. Ellie runs away into our room. Next, I swipe the lady off her feet, and she lands hard, her neck snapping back painfully as it slams into the ground. Ouch. Her eyelids flutter and close. She seems to be knocked out, so I sigh in relief. "Hold it right there!" a voice yells. I spin around. Summer is running straight at me with Xander and two other security guards trailing behind her. I smile. "Autumn! Thank God you're okay!" Summer smiles. Then she stares into my eyes. Why does she have to be so bossy? Her eyes sparkle. "Tell me what happened. All of it." So I do. About the green light, then the red, the lady's fake cheerfulness, how she said that Summer sent her, the hand griping, the gun... all of it. "Okay. Uh huh." Summer nods. Ellie snuck out of our room while I was telling the story, and has been standing next to me, backing up what I had said. "My hand hurts." Ellie lifts her arm up, her white hand dangling in air. Summer's eyes go wide when she sees it. "Randy. Medical Room. Now." A security guard that followed Summer pushes Ellie away. The other security guard had already taken the unconcious lady away. Now it's just me, Summer, and Xander. "Autumn?" Summer asks. "Yes?" I look up, prepared for a scolding about how I took the lady out. "Never trust anyone, anyone at all, if it isn't me or Xander. Please. I don't want you to get hurt." Summer looks at me, then hugs me. My eyes open wide, then I stiffly pat her on the back. Summer pulls back. "Sorry." she shifts uncomfortably, then turns back into the Summer I know. "Training starts tomorrow. Xander will bring you there. You'll get tge explaination then. You should probably rest now." Summer pushes me back into my room, questions flooding my head. Red lights are blinking all over the room. Who was that lady? Why did she want me and Ellie? How did she get into LC if she's bad? What did they do with the lady? Is Ellie okay? Even with all these questions, I still drift off somehow. I dream of playing I Spy.

. . . . . .

When I wake up, Ellie's still gone. Her hand must be really bad. I get up and stretch. Then I sit down in a chair. Next I look around. This is so boring. For the next hour, I do absolutly nothing. Nothing at all. Click! The light next to the door turns green. It stays green. Click! The door slides open, and Xander stands in the hallway, staring at me, never blinking. I gulp. Xander is really intimidating. He's about 7 feet tall and weighs about 300 pounds. All muscle. He's like Summer's bodyguard. "Autumn. Come with me." I walk out of my room. "Follow me." He leads me out of my hallway, into a bigger hallway, and to a giant main room. It seems like the one Summer brought me into when we first entered LC. People are running around or sitting at computers, talking to people on headsets. Xander opens a door, and I walk in. Huge pieces of gym equiptment are scattered throughout the room, and I spot Summer practicing tai kwan do on a practice mat. She sees us coming and stops. "Autumn. Come over here." she says. I know better than to refuse, so I walk over. "What?" "Do you want to know what happened earlier today?" It's still the same day? "Sure?" "Okay. You might want to sit down." I sit down on the mat. Summer sits down in front of me. She takes a deep breath. "Autumn?" she asks. "Yeah?" "That lady that attacked you and Ellie is our mother."
