30 January 2013

The sound of tidal waves breaking Echoes along the empty beach. I wiggle my toes in the cold sand As to the sky, seagulls reach.

I draw a face in the sand And a wave comes along and ruins it. The smell of salt wafts through the air As the sun starts to quit.

My toe traces a pattern In this fading light. A heart is what it is, But it doesn't feel right.

A heart is painful Brings tears to my eyes. It doesn't belong on this beach With it's beautiful, pink skies.

I alow the waves To carry my heart away. Set it free, into the sunset Please save it for another day.

I watch my heart fly with the sun, The seagulls carrying it to a safe place. I turn, leaving it to it's destiny, Waves alow my footprints to be erased.
