24 December 2012

My eyes snap open. Is it time at last? I swing my legs over my bed And look out over the snowy grass.

It's a white Christmas! I skip down the stairs in glee Then I see the presents Underneath the Christmas tree.

There's big ones, there's small ones, There's some of odd shapes, My stocking's overflowing, But I only pay attention to the smell of crepes.

My mom's in the kitchen Flipping my crepes. "Oh, thank you!" She gives me a plate of grapes.

After we finished eating, We run to the tree room Where we rip our gifts open There's definatly no gloom!

I got a cell phone My brother got an Xbox Dad got a tool set My mom? She got some socks.

When we get done Everyone wants to play with their toys So we do; all day Until we hear a pounding noise.

Our relatives! They're here! Every single one. There's Cousin Lou and Aunt Cindy, Just avoid Uncle Not Fun.

We laugh and chat Some smiles are forced Even so It takes a turn for the worst...

Christmas dinner! Not a place you want to be. When Cousin Fred flicked his potatoes at his sister Everything broke free

Ham can fly! Salad on the loose! Did you know green beens could soar? We're just lucky nothing hit the spruce.

It finally settled down All of them had to leave My mom got to work Scrubbing the kitchen clean.

My dad, brother and I Settled down on the couch We watched Elf I really started to slouch!

I started to nod off So my dad carried me to bed. I dreamed of next Christmas While visions of sugarplums danced in my head!
