Kit dashed down the stairs as quiet as she could racing for the front door. Her heart hammering against her chest. It was locked. She heard Jonathan's approaching footsteps. Back Door. Now. She skidded across the floor making her way into the kitchen. Just a few....more...step- "Going somewhere little sis?" The words cut through her thoughts like ice.
She turned around. Only a few feet away from the door. If I distract him long enough maybe I can make it,she swallowed hard."Look I was just-" He slammed her into the wall ,knocking the breath out of her."Trying to escape? Do you really think there is a place I couldn't find you?" he sneered. Her hand could almost reach the handle. He leaned in closer, pushing Kit painful against the wall. The handle was exhaustingly out of reach now. "Don't mess around" he breathed into her ear. Shivers ran down her spine.
