Chloe sat up, and looked around her. Felix was stretched out by the fire, and Kirby was above her, sleeping on a limb of the tree in a deceptively feline way. She rubbed her eyes, and started to lay back down under her woolen blanket, but a single note of a flute caused her to stop. At the edge of the clearing, a man stood. He held a polished flute, and his eyes sparkled with strange light. He winked at her, and again played a single note. As if on cue, the air burst with a haunting song. Chloe stared at him, her eyes wide. In her heart, a strange stirring ruffled. A yearning to dance, to sing and to prance along moonlit hills. She looked up at Kirby, and sideways at Felix. Neither seemed disturbed by the melodies. The man did a have bounce, half prance, and walked away, playing a strangely flat song. It seemed simple compared to the haunting melodies that filled the clearing, but it lured her stronger then they did. Chloe's eyes glazed over, the further away he walked, it seemed her heart was being ripped apart. He stopped, and smiled, "Come little One. Follow my steps. I'll show you how to dance". And again he played his flute, and Chloe stood quickly, almost as if her movements were being made by another. She stepped over the sleeping Felix, and skipped the rest of the way to the strange flutist. When she had come to stand behind him, he cackled, and took off at a fast dance around the trees. Chloe laughed lightheartedly, and danced clumsily along with him as his music lured her farther and farther from her loyal guardians.
((Snippet from 'Chloe' which is still a WIP. I know what's going on, but I hope it isn't to confusing. This particular scene is inspired by the song 'Come Little Children' it can be found on YouTube by the user 'GOTHGAM08')).
