We're both traveling an endless sidewalk. We both look straight ahead, not minding the other people squeezing in between us. We didn't touch, stiffness runs in our body but we continue walking. You looked so serious, but I doubt that you were thinking anything related to me, like asking my name or wondering where I'm headed, perhaps? It's amazing how my mind gets clouded up by a stranger like you and how those tiny things like how beautiful your eyes were, your hair looking unwashed but sexy, those soft lips that give goosies just by making someone stare at it. I wonder if you're creeped out by me, thinking that even if I wasn't directly looking at you, it's obvious that I was checking you out. I decided to keep my cool down and stare at the ground because if I don't, I might end up asking you for your name which is ridiculous since I absolutely have no reason to, and I won't risk doing that since I suck at "Getting to Know People 101". But I notice that nearing fork in the sidewalk. Your face still blank but what does that mean? I'm headed at the left side since my school's that way, how about you? Fingers-crossed you're going left too. I can't let you out of my sight yet... but you went right and that was it. Until I heard a thud. I thought it was my heart crash but it wasn't so I continued walking like I normally do. Until someone poked me at the back and said "Hey, your pencil case fell from your bag. My guess, you can't live without it." and you smiled. It's you. The person I shared the sidewalk with. Okay, so my pencil case was such a giveaway considering the complete set of colored pens, stapler and staple wires, pair of scissors, paste and whatnot. Now you know I'm a full-blown nerd. The inside if me is already telling you, "Run while you still can! Make a run for it!" but my only response was "Thank you, good guess." of course, the awkward smile flashes out. "You're welcome. yeah, the weight of that was pretty much a giveaway." you said. And yes that was exactly my point. I don't know why and you probably thought it was crazy that I reached down my pencil case and handed you a black felt tip pen. Not the prettiest pen in my case but it works and it can be useful right? and then I said, "Guard it with your life." And you flash that smile that reveals your wonder why I gave you that pen. I didn't need to explain because I know a part of you gets it. After our goodbyes and thanks and an exchange of "See you around." we finally part ways. That was the end of it. That was that and we didn't even need to know each other's name, not like I'll ever need that. There's like a dust sized chance that we'll meet again. With a wide grin, I knew right then that there probably was a minute romance none of us ever knew of, until it flew away.
