CHAPTER 8

Temari stood in the middle of a great, green field, staring at Solind from a hundred feet away. They were both in position to fight. Solind's hand went down to indicate the match had begin and they both went flying.

"How are we going to stop Mikan?" Temari had asked an hour ago. The Controller had cracked his knuckles and grinned. "We are going to test out your three Power Sources. Natural, Creator, and Spiritual."

Temari tried to well up enough strength in her to exert her Natural energy as she flung herself towards Solind. A green light developed at the palm of her hand and collected at thr base of her feet, increasing her speed. She threw her hand against his, full of power. Solind grabbed her hand and flung it down in an instant. How come he could see her movements so clearly? He tripped her right foot, and pinned her to the ground in a split second. She lay, breathing heavily. "We need to improve your Natural energy before we even try to control your Creator energy." he said swiftly, not breathing heavily in the slightest. "I can see that," she huffed, "Can you let me go now?" "Sorry." he appologized. Solind helped her to her feet. "The basics of your Natural energy is the earth. Your Creators energy is for the living things in earth like trees and forest animals. We have to manipulate your nonliving powers so that you can use them at will. Got that?" he instructed. She nodded intently. She had to save Damian, and this was how she was going to do it. He stood in the center of the field and rose his hands to form a signal. Acting quickly, he laid out his hand on the ground and rose it instantly. A tree, an oak, came from the ground altogether forming a whole tree with sturdy roots, limbs, and leaves. Solind folded his arms and leaned against the trunk. "Since us Controllers have a bit of Creator energy from stopping your seal, I can manipulate your Creator power. I want you to use the earth and rock to detroy this tree." he ordered. Temari furrowed her brows. She knew what to do. Closing her eyes, she made a hand signal that she learned from the intitution. But this time, he felt the earth's energy seap out and into her. Flashing her eyes to the tree, she shot her hand forward, and with force, the ground below her shot parallel to her hand. The tree got three spikes pinned to its tough trunk. The went a few inches deep, but the diameter of the tree was much longer then the spike its self. She would need to concentrate more if she ever wanted to chop the whole tree down. "I'll leave you to practice." called the Controller, who move away from the tree and into his shack. Temari breathed with the wind and tried again. The spike didn't increase in size, nor did the hole. She tried this multiple times until she was worn out. Maybe if she struck the limbs first she could control smaller portions of her power. One! Two! Three! She tried over and over until the tree was just a large upright log. She needed more than spikes. Once again, she closed her eyes and tried to feel the ground. She felt the dirt and the clumps of earth, then pebbles and small rocks. She focused on the rocks and imagined them as one. After feeling the energy, she opened her eyes again and shot the rocks into the tree. This time, with a grin on her face, it had cut more than half way through. As the sun began to set, the tree had finally fallen, leaving Temari tired but thrilled. "Oye! Solind! I cut the tree!" she yelled into the shack. The man came out with his hands in his pockets. He smirked at the fallen tree. 'She has improved so much in the little time I gave her,' he thought to himself, 'with that much perserverence she'll engage her Creator reputation in no time.' "Fight me." he said swiftly. She smiled, no longer afraid. Welling up all of the energy around her, she charged. He jumped onto the stump of the tree as she came forward. Before he could release his own energy, spikes of rock came from below him. He nearly dodged it, taken back by her strategy. "Too slow!" she cried, forming the earth energy into her fist while he was disracted. He missed the final strike finally gazing up at Temari. She punched him as hard as she could and a burst of emerald light errupted from the blow. When the light ceased, she found her hand against his. He chuckled softly. "Your ready." he said. "For what?" she asked. "To meet the reincarnation of yourself; the Creator."

- thanks everyone so much for sticking with this story! I cant wait to describe her other self, the true Creator, and how she learns... from herself! Comment good or bad suggestions! Long live Temari!-
