This is what I don't get about asking questions:
At school, the head teacher told all the pupils in assembly: "At school, it is good to ask questions so you can find answers and become cleverer.".
One young girl took this into account and started to ask questions more often. It worked. She became really clever!
The girl decided that to become extra clever she should ask her parents some questions. On the way to school, she asked her mum: "Why is the sun so bright?" "It's a big, burning ball of fire in space" she replied. "Why can we see it if it is in space?" asked the girl. "Because it is fire, and fire is bright." Replied her mum. "Why?" said the girl. "It just is." replied her mum. "Why?" asked the girl. "It just is." repeated her mum.
This went on for a while, until her mum finally said: "I don't know, alright?"
So why do adults say it's good to ask questions if they only get irritated by them?
