"Um," I stuttered. "Okay?"

"Well," she started."I'm having my grad party this Saturday. Wanna come? Not many of my old friends can come."

"Oh? Okay. Yeah, I'll come." Way to screw it up, Jordan.

"Great." she turned to the waiter. "Table for two? Make a booth," she smiled.

I ordered a BLT, she, broiled fish.

I laughed. "Hmm?" she raised a questionable eyebrow.

"I can already tell you're much classier than me," I told her.

"Why? Because of food?"

A moment passed by before she burst out laughing. "Jordan. Really. Im not too classy."

And soon break was over, and we had to go back to work. It was nice getting to know Hannah. She's nice, carefree, super smart. And pretty. Can't forget it.

I opened the door to the restaurant, Hannah's laughter from something I'd said flooding into the room. Our manager, Walter, stood staring at us.

I gulped. "Uh... Hi Walter"

I thought I saw a trace of a smile but it disappeared quickly. "Orders have been stacking up like crazy. I gave your shift to Andrew."

I grimaced. I hated Andrew, everyone loved him so much. Sure, we get around 250$ a week, but he gets twice as much for doing absolutely nothing.

He pointed at Hannah. "You go find Andrew. He'll show you the ropes now."

Hannah smiled fakely. "Yes Sir." as she walked behind me she whispered in my ear. "Later, Jordan?"

I nodded and she left. "Uh, what do I do?" I asked.

"The only thing we need is the bar shift. No drinking. Make sure to ID. And if they're under 21, make their drink a virgin."

I sighed and proceeded down the staircase to the bar.
