I hate working the bar.
First off, I have no clue why I get assigned it considering I'm only 18- I can't even drink yet. My boss is a dumbass sometimes. Which is most of the time.
Second, Hannah's just going to fall in love with Andrew and then I'll be left in the dust. The first girl I like, and I can't even get her to like me.
I fixed my glasses and half heartedly opened the gate to go behind the bar counter. And of course, as soon as I started to wipe down the counter, thinking no one would buy, I was swamped with orders.
Make this, mix that, half the things I don't even know and I hope that I did it write. I guess it works, the crowd seems drunk enough.
And when my shift is over, I gladly run back up the stairs to clock out, and I see Hannah near the reservations desk. I smile, but I can only have the feeling for so long, because there's Andrew walking up and leaning against the wall with a smirk and a gleam in his eyes. Hannah blushes slightly and tucks her bangs behind her ear.
I needed to do something fast. "Haannaah," I called out. "Hannah!"
She turned and laughed. "Jordan!" I smirked at Andrew's fallen face.
"Hannah!"
"Jordan."
"Hannah." How long would the name calling last?
"Jordan," she giggled.
I stared. "Hannah."
"ANDREW!" Andrew butted in, I ignored Hannah's slight laughter.
"Hannah, come here." and my luck, she comes over, leaving Andrew looking angry.
Mission successful.
"Hey," I say, still grinning, feeling pretty damn good about my clever attention stealing game. "I was wondering, tomorrow do you want to go out for dinner, maybe?" I needed to make a date fast before Andrew could.
She blushed. "Yeah, sure. I'd love it." she put her coat on and we embraced. "See you around, Jordan."
As soon as she was out of earshot, I yelled "YESS!"
Andrew walked over and glared. "I'll win next time."
I laughed, almost a pity laugh that she chose me and not him. "A-Okay."
My phone buzzed, and I answered, maybe sounding a little too optimistic.
"Jordan? Uh you sound happy. Hi, it's Jess."
I laughed. "What's up?"
"I just wanted to make sure we were still practicing tomorrow night."
I frowned. "..Tomorrow? Tomorrow night??"
Damn.
