I looked up at the stage when I heard familiar singing voices, it was.. Adam and Alyssa singing together. I sighed. They always did duets together.
"I like this song, it's so... Romantic!" chirped Brielle, the girl I'd been talking to. "Let's dance."
"What? Okay... Yeah, sure. Id love to." I answered. Was old pre-Alyssa Ian coming back?
We stepped to the dancefloor with the dozens of other couples, and Adam looked down and caught my eye, giving me a smile of approval. I nodded back kind of a thanks.
I wondered if Alyssa could see me now, and maybe shed know, I understand things go wrong. I learned that with Leia and Jonah, too. There's probably a billion girls out there, and one of them is The One.... It's just not Alyssa. I smiled, the most real smile I've had all night. Rising from the shadow and into a lighter, better, happier, greater world. It's the best feeling ever.
