Velma she gone wasn't in no pain very silent sitting on the couch
Arriving every morning at 4:30 AM we speak said good morning
Watching her as she listen to the gospel channel everyday, not saying
Much just listening she couldn't see, say something every now and then
I thought we had much more time then she was aloud they slip a dose
Of medicine which I didn't know until I was told that kept her sleeping
They just let her sleep away, now I know she is happy being with Jesus
Everyday she smiling knowing she will stay with the master for ever more
I can't call her on the phone or go for a visit she has gone on home they
Let her slip away she no longer have to sleep sitting up on the couch for she
Couldn't even walk any longer because the couch stole all her strength like
I said at the beginning and is saying right now Velma have sleep herself
Right out of here to glory where she have a whole complete body and walking
Free of any pain that she could of had seeing out of the eyes her Savior gave Her on the day that she was born Velma gone she sleep away I'm told.
