It took a little over two hours to reach the town. When I got there I went straight to the bank and cleaned out the account; “are you sure you want to remove all of the money from this account miss?” the bank manager asked me. “Yes, my mother is going on a vacation and wishes to have instant access to all her funds” The bank manager looked at me as if I was insane. “Is there a problem sir? my mother has banked with you for over 20 years, I’m sure that you would want that to continue, yes?” I said to the bank manager “Of cause” he smiled an uncomfortable smile “I’ll just go get your money” “Thank you” I replied. After the bank I went and brought a few new outfits for me to take on my journey and another suitcase. I then headed to ‘Gloria’s’ inn. I walked up the few steps to the inn and went inside. The inn was surprisingly quite nice, there were elaborate paintings on the walls and it reminded me of something that I had once seen in a French history book. The inn itself appeared to be designed around the Renaissance period. I walked up to the check-in section there was a man wearing the outfit of a bell boy; I figured that he could help me. “Excuse me sir?” I said The man behind the counter turned and looked at me “How can I help you ma’am?” I smiled at him politely “I would like to book a room for a few nights” “Okay. What name is that under? “ “Anna...” I couldn’t think of a fake last name to use it was as if my entire mind had gone blank. “Your last name ma’am?” “Um” I was still frozen, and then I just said the first name that popped into my mind “Nomad”; I knew it was a mistake as soon as the name left my lips. The bell boy gave me a curious look. “Are you related to a Mr. Damon Nomad? he was waiting for another party to arrive.” The bell boy said. “No I am not” I said in a voice that sounds so sure that I could have almost fooled myself, almost. “Sorry ma’am, my mistake” he said “No, it’s okay.” I said with a smile. “I’ll show you too your room” he said walking around to pick up my suit case. He picked up the bag and headed for the stairs, I followed after him.

My room was on the top floor of the inn, it was one of only two rooms on the floor. The room was quite extensive there was a lounge area, bedroom with a giant bed and a bathroom with a ceramic bath in it, the bath looked big enough to fit six people. After I got settled into my room I went to the train station and brought a one way ticket to Paris. The next train didn’t leave until Thursday; I would have to spend two nights at the inn. By the time I got back to the inn it was late enough to have dinner I went to the dining room. The dining room like the rest of the inn was completely decked out; it was amazing the check-in area didn’t even come close to how the dining room looked. I had dinner then headed over to the bar room. After everything I went through today I deserved a drink. I was almost at the counter when I noticed a man sitting at the end of the counter with a woman talking to him. The woman had on a red dress with a skin tight bodice, it only took me a second to realise that this woman was a ‘scarlet woman’, a woman who sold her body for money. Whoever the man she was speaking to was he would surely wake up in the morning with no money left in his pockets. The scarlet women in this town were notorious for taking more than what they earned from their clients. I sat at the bar a few seats away from the woman, I could hear what she was saying now. “C’mon baby it won’t take long” she said to the man. “I’m not interested thank you” the man answered and I knew that voice. “You know you want to “ “No I’m waiting for someone” The man that the scarlet woman was talking to said forcefully. “Fine” she said with a huff as she stood “your loss” she said and walked away. I was left looking at the man she was talking to, he had chin length black hair and even though he was looking at the ground I knew his eyes were as green as a rainforest, it was Dimitri. He lifted his head as if he felt my gaze on him. When he saw that it was me looking at him his face broke into the most glorious smile that I had ever seen, I smiled back at him. It was easy to forget that I was mad at him for whatever role he played, in Count Ferson proposal. Forgetting was easy, but I had to remember and my face turned from a smile to a frown the instant I remembered. Dimitri obviously didn’t notice the change in my expression because he got off his chair and came towards me. “You came” he said as he hugged me “I was so worried that you changed your mind” he let me out of the hug and looked at me. “I did” I said “I know I’m so glad...” “No” I cut him off. “I did change my mind” “What?” he said confused “We need to talk” I said “privately” “Okay sure. Do you want to go up to my room?” he said “No we’ll go to mine” I said and I turned to lead the way. He looked surprised to know that I had a room. We went to the elevator and I pushed the button for the third floor. “You’re on the third floor?” Dimitri asked “Yes, why?” I replied. Not looking at him don’t look at him I chastised myself once you look at him, really look at him you’re a goner. “I’m on the third floor” he said I didn’t say anything I just waited for the ding of the elevator.
