28 April 2012

Monday, the 30th of April 2012 the calendar showed as David Leeds Evans looked up and stared blankly at it. The classroom was quiet, maybe even a little too quiet. And then, a knock on the door interrupted his thoughts. "Hello, is David Leeds Evans here please?" said the secretary who scanned the room with her dark, mysterious eyes. "Yes, he is. David, do you mind talking outside though, we're kind of in the middle of a test." replied the teacher.

David had ginger hair, blue eyes and lots of freckles. He also wore glasses. The secretary stared into his eyes, and David felt threatened. He could hear his heart pounding in his chest, as though trying to ditch the body and make a run for freedom while it could! "Your parents want you to take the bus home today." said the secretary, as though teasing David. But something wasn't right.

KNOCK KNOCK! BANG!! It came from down the corridor. The secretary heard it too. Before she could say "Get back to class, she had sprinted down quarter of the corridor. BANG, BANG, BANG, BANG! It sounded like the school was being demolished. And that's when he saw it!

A man held a pistol, and shot, striking the secretary in the chest. He then knocked on the closest classroom door, opened it, and fired. The screams will forever be heard rebounding off the walls in Friars. The way David felt was equally as devastating. He walked back into class.

"Are you okay David? You look really pale!" "There's a ... A gunman. Loose on the corridor." he somehow managed to stutter the words out, despite feeling as though he could never speak again. "Don't be stupid!" exclaimed the teacher, but soon regretted saying that. Suddenly a scream was heard. The teacher jumped up and rushed out the door. She was taken aback when she saw the bodies of Mr Parry and the secretary. Bang! The teacher suddenly dropped to the floor. A perfect shot had hit her in the throat.

The class erupted with fear. It was like a raging volcano, erupting into a peaceful land. David rushed out of the class, pressed the fire alarm, and went back in. Suddenly as the classes emptied, they saw the bodies, and went back into the class, waiting, listening ... praying. David suddenly had an idea. He snapped off one side of his glasses, and began sharpening it. He had seen on an episode of CSI Vegas that a prisoner snapped off his glasses, sharpened it an used it to stab a police officer. He would try to do the same.

He hid in a cupboard opposite his class. When the gunman came in front of his class' door, David stayed quiet. If he would succeed, he'd stab the gunman and save the rest of the school. If he failed, he would die.

David jumped out of the cupboard and stabbed the gunman. The gunman, dropped onto the floor. "YOU STABBED ME?!" he screamed. As he felt the blood drain out of him, he removed his mask. It was Mr Macaulay Jenkins. He had just been fired! He was 24 and had dark hair. As David was about to leave, Macaulay grabbed him, and whispered something to him. As David listened, his eyes widened with the horrifying realisation of what was about to happen. Then, he was stabbed. Macaulay had managed to get hold of David's glasses, and used it to stab him 3times!

David felt the blood, and the life begin to drain out of him. He tried to focus on something to keep himself from becoming unconscious. But then, as his class mates gathered round, he slipped away.

Next thing David knew, he was in hospital, surrounded by his family, and friends. He was alive, He was self-conscious, He was a hero ... A hero who saved the school!

Just a little something I wrote in year 10 in a past paper test. I got 19/20, and have changed bits of it :) hope you like it :) I did this to keep you all occupied while I try an think of the next episode of Tryfan.
