Pen to paper She starts to think again "Write to me won't you?" "Of course I will, Pen" Penny waited but her letter never came And Sara always sat there Not a day would go by When she got her pen out and thought of what to write
Many years passed And Penny just moved on Then she got a little letter With words just so strong "I miss you with my whole heart I think of you each day I think of our friendship, Pen But never know what to say
"Do I tell you that I miss you? Tell you I'm okay? Truth is really, I'm getting married today I wanted you to be there I cried so much it hurt But when I walked into that church I found something that was worse There you sat, smiling at me Old friends, I couldn't believe
"A wedding surprise My dad hunted you down He found you for me I missed you, Pen Did you miss me?"
The letter made Pen cry To her husband, she couldn't explain why After years apart, it took one day to say goodbye Sara was taken that day Now Penny didn't know what to say
