I closed my eyes
Held my arms out beside me
The air caressing my body
The sun burning the backs of my lids
My hair moving this way and that
And whipping against my face
And then that sound
The same one that brought me here
The thrashing against the rocks
Soothing
It drew me near
The water going back and forth
Back and forth
And then against the rocks again
Making the same noise each time
Soothing me slowly
Relaxing my body
And then I knew it was time
The thing I was there for
I took a step closer
And then another
If I opened my eyes I wouldn't go through with it
And then I jumped
