So because I'm ill and was off college yesterday, I was able to get some writing done. So here are chapters 14&15 ... Enjoy! --------------------------------
Chapter 14 - Getting Down To Work ---------------------------------------------
I walked to Matt's house wearing dungarees over a long sleeved white top and my cute little black boots. In one hand I had a pot of blue paint and in the other a pot of purple paint. In my backpack were 4 paintbrushes, three more pairs of dungarees and some dust sheets. I had to put the heavy pots down when I got to Matt's. I rang the bell and he answered quickly. "Want to help me surprise Sasha? I want to paint her room." I grinned as I got a pair of dungarees out for him. "Will Sasha be with us?" Tom asked, appearing behind Matt. "Yeah" I laughed, throwing dungarees at both of them. They disappeared quickly and both came back wearing trainers and long sleeved white tops. We walked to Sasha's quickly. Tom and Matt both held a pot of paint and Matt also held my hand. It was nice.
Sasha opened the front door and smiled so widely that it reminded me of The Joker and I laughed. We got straight down to work. While Sasha changed, the rest of us put dust sheets over everything. She came back wearing fluffy black socks, her hat and a long sleeved white top under her dungarees. "Where do you want the purple? And where blue?" I asked as Matt opened the tins and Tom just gaped at her. "Purple on them two" She replied pointing to the window wall and the wall opposite. So the blue would go on the other two walls. Me and Sasha started in the blue while Tom and Matt started on the purple. We listened to the radio while we painted and, by the time we were finished, we were all covered in paint. I blame Matt for that, he started it. Sasha's mum, Sarah, had been home for an hour and she took a picture of us in Sasha's room. I was in one of the corners so you could see the blue and purple.
Me and Matt left after that. We said goodbye and he walked me home because it was too dark. That was the first time we kissed. We were standing at my front door, the key frozen in the lock. He said, "you must have loved our date so much that you wanted to spend the whole day with me." "You could say that." I laughed. "Your eyes are brighter than the stars" He smiled, looking up. I moved closer to him, away from the door so I could see the stars, and stared up at the sky. "They're pretty" I said as he cupped my jaw with one hand. I looked at him as his other hand braced the other side of my jaw. "You're prettier." Matt whispered then we kissed.
Chapter 15 - Pacco -----------------------
I was standing in the cold, wearing a jumper of Matt's, waiting for Tom and Sasha. It was Monday, Matt was ill and Sasha fell asleep in second lesson. That was another thing crossed off her list. We were at out nearest dogs shelter and we had said there was no point us all going in so I waited outside. After 15 minutes I had to venture inside. "I was freezing my butt off out there" I explained when I found Sasha. "Sasha" A woman called. "Just in time" I smiled then followed them through the door and into the kennel. "What type of dog are you looking for?" The woman asked. "An old one" Sasha replied. The woman nodded then led us to the back. I kept my distance from them and looked at all the dogs as I passed. Eventually I made it to them and saw the tiny dog they were looking at. "That is not old" I said, pointing at it. "Are you sure it's a dog? Looks like a rat to me." Tom joked and I laughed. "Guys" Sasha said, feigning shock. I could tell she was trying hard not to laugh. "You'll like Pacco" I said. "No, she won't. She'll like Lucky here." The woman objected. "I think I know my best friend better than you." I said then took Sasha's hand and led her to Pacco. Sasha got to her knees before the cage and Pacco moved towards her, slower in his old age, and licked her hand through the bars. "I'll have him." Sasha declared. "Are you sure?" The woman asked. "Is your lucky day, Pacco." Tom said to the small black spaniel as I smiled at the woman.
And that was that, Sasha brought Pacco. He seemed so happy to get out of that place and I took a picture of him and Sasha outside. They both seemed happy together.
