I collapsed to the floor, my feet were hurting now. I just gave up, couldn't move anymore.
Within minutes I was on my hands and knees and I was coughing and spewing up blood. I had no clue where I was and I was in pain, hurting so badly.
"Hey!" A voice called. I had to move, keep going, but I just couldn't move I was losing consciousness. I could feel it.
I stumbled up when I heard the footsteps behind me and fell straight back down to my knees.
"Lana, don't move" He hissed then grabbed me up into his arms. He shushed me then started to run. I looked up at him and sighed.
"Koda" I whispered, bursting into tears.
Shushing me again, he held me closer then planted a kiss on my forehead. I closed my eyes and let the soft beat of his heart soothe me. It seemed like a lullaby to me in my ill state and my breathing started to deepen.
"Talk to me" Koda said making me jump. I opened my eyes and looked at his own bright green ones. He was staring straight ahead but a slow smile crossed his face.
"Why are you looking at me like that?" He asked, his smile deepening.
"Koda, why?" I whispered, not managing anything better because my throat hurt.
"Can't really answer half a question there, Lana-Fey." He smiled. "I've been following you, silly. I saw those men attack you and I tried to intervene and then you ran. I had to follow you, I know how fast you are, and you didn't stop. I thought I lost you but then I heard you." He paused before his voice went softer. "Are you okay?"
I hadn't realised he had stopped until he averted his gaze to my face. There was tears in his eyes, I had hurt him and I could tell it by the look on his face.
I nodded. "Thank you" I whispered.
