The next place Charlie took Anna to was the hut next to the first. This time he held her hand inside. There was a desk inside as a man sitting behind it. He was a friendly man, who everyone looked up to. When he saw Anna, his smile grew, and he greeted her with a hug. Anna had always seen Alfred, Charlie's big brother, as a brother. He was best friends with Callum and she had known him all her life.
"Sorry about your parents" He said, his arms around her.
"Yeah, me too" She whispered into his shoulder.
"We'll get them, Anna. Trust me, we'll find who killed them and we will get them"
Anna tiptoed, kissed him on the cheek then smiled. "Thank you, Alfred. There is just one problem, we need to get back"
He nodded and stepped away. "I've got it covered." He winked at her then sat at his desk.
"Tell me" She begged as Charlie took her hand again.
"It may be best if you didn't know" He replied, taking a pen in his hand.
"It may be best?" She mocked.
Alfred nodded, writing something down in a little brown book.
"Well I want answers and I want them now" Anna growled but he just waved the thought away.
"Alf, you'll have to tell her eventually" Charlie shrugged beside her.
"Just not yet, Char" He said, smiling down at the page.
She knew then that she'd have to take extra measures to find out what was going on.
