It took Anna what seemed like hours to go to sleep but, when her eyes had been closed for a couple of minutes, the vessel gave a jolting land then opened automatically, letting in all the light. Anna groaned but unbuckled and stepped into the orange haze of the morning light.

What Anna found, when her eyes adjusted, she didn't like. To her eyes, it looked like a vessel graveyard. Some were buried under sand, some were completely destroyed and the rest were perfectly fine. The vessel graveyard was surrounded by a wire fence so Anna made her way towards the break in the fence. At the break in the fence sat a pile of clothes.

Anna had automatically assumed that the clothes she had on were the clothes she would have to wear for the rest of her life. She examined the clothes before putting them on to realise they were a man's clothes and were too big.

"Funny" Anna called out sarcastically.

"Sorry" A voice came from beside her.

She spun round to find a boy before her. He was tall for his age, she knew that much, but he grinned at the sight of her.

Running a hand through his ginger hair, he said, "Girls don't come here"

"What do you mean?" Anna asked. "Of course they come here"

He shook his head. "No, the family member of closest blood goes instead of the woman"

"What if you're down for killing the guy of closest blood?" Anna shrugged.

The boy gulped. "Did you?" He stuttered.

"Are you kidding me? Of course I didn't, have you seen me?" She said, indicating to herself.

He nodded, taking in her tiny form. "They do say it's the person you least expect" He grinned.

"Yeah, well I'm looking for a guy called Zanpar. Know him?"

The boy grinned again. "Of course I do. How many people do you think have been sent here anyway?"

"How am I supposed to know?" She asked then realised it was rhetorical.

"Just take me to him" Anna huffed.

He shrugged, smiling still. "Follow me, mademoiselle"
