We are going to be performing Taming Of The Shrew soon and we have to explain that, if we could do the play our way then how we would do it ... This is coursework, yeah, but I think the best idea is the one we are doing, only thing the same will be the Elizabethan language, and I thought I'd share my idea ... Any feedback appreciated :) -----------------------

What if the sexes were reversed? Lets say Katherine is still the shrew, that's not really something you can change, but instead of Katherine we have Kit, our male shrew.

And what about his brother, Benicio? Benicio is looking for the perfect wife but isn't aloud his inheritance until Kit marries.

And so the search begins for a wife for Kit!

Benicio knows the perfect woman for him. The perfect woman is Penelope. She loves a challenge and believe that men and women should be equal.

Their marriage is arranged, they have no say at all, and the date is set. Kit sends his wife-to-be an expensive white dress but she turns up wearing a simple black one. He is embarrassed by this because its like she's "going to her own funeral". They marry then go on their honeymoon to "mummy's" villa in Padua, Italy. Kit is lazy. He believes that women should be housewives. He's been sheltered all his life and never had to lift a finger. He doesn't know how to cook and his wife refuses to cook him food and there are only uncooked foods in the villa. He tries but gets food poisoning from it. He realises that he needs Penelope's help because he is feeling weak. She nurses him back to health as he realises that he was wrong about her the whole time. "Thou shalt rest now The morrow shalt bring a new dawn"

Meanwhile, Benicio has found the "perfect" girl for him. Leticia is her name and she's quiet but deadly. She's the type of person you don't want to get on the wrong side of. However, Benicio isn't the best fiancé in the world and could learn a thing or two from the "new" Kit.
