Have you ever regretted something so much that it broke your heart?
That every part of your being ached for it not to be true?
When you thought about shaking your head and saying "no" over again until they told you it wasn't true?
When just thinking about it makes your heart beat horridly
And when you close your eyes you can still see it clearly?
The memory clear like it happened mere seconds ago, not months,
And people are wondering, "why are you getting so worked up about this?"
And over again you get called silly for those tears that threaten and still do fall
But the fact is, you still do cry
And you try to remember what it was like before
But you can't forget that last day
That final goodbye
How you never got to say it
And you didn't want to
You didn't like finality of it
