Caine slammed the fridge door behind him then opened a can.

"I told you they'd do it, didn't I?" He said, leaning against one of the sides.

"Well why would I believe you? He gave me his word" I replied.

"Never listen to them, isn't that the rule?" He challenged.

I shrugged. "You know he's different"

"Different, Flora? That's bull, he's the same as the rest" Caine growled.

"Edmund is different and you know he is. Are you jealous or something, Caine?" I snapped back.

"Arguing again?" Someone purred from the back door. I knew who it was just by the sound of his voice and by the way Caine looked like him. Hate seemed like a lenient word.

"You got the letter then?" Edmund asked, his bright green eyes transfixed on me.

I nodded. "Came this morning"

"What is up with this idle chitchat? You screwed us over, Edmund. You lied to us. To Flora. Would you care to explain yourself?" Caine snapped.

"There is nothing I could do, my love. They were going to do it anyway, my vote didn't count" Edmund explained.

"You're a liar." I said then looked at Caine, who nodded. "You have a lot of say, if you say no then more say no, and your vote always counts because who your parents are."

"Listen to me" He started to say but I cut him off.

"You are no longer welcome in my house" I said firmly and, of course, he couldn't help but leave. I turned to look at Caine, who had a smug look on his face.

"Don't you dare say a thing" I snapped then looked at the letter again.

Six words stood out to me, 'hunting ban had now been revoked.'

"Bloody vampires" Caine hissed under his breath, I shot him the finger.
