I see crowded round my locker Each eager, worried face All trying first to speak to me And jostling for space
But their words aren't consequential To this hassled, headached girl My thoughts block out each buzzing voice And day dreams soon unfurl...
I'm running, madly laughing Towards the heavy double doors My backpack drops, my worries too They don't matter anymore
The winter air swirls 'round my face Kissing my pale cheeks Goosebumps spread and nose is pink But I'm grinning, finally free
Twirling, spinning, giggling Shoes fly off and hair unpins Erased is every worthless fact I once harboured within...
Then I find my vision fades And I'm surrounded once again By these bumbling, idiotic fools Who peck at me like hens
But I muster a convincing smile And join their mindless chatter I stroll the hallways in their midst As if nothing is the matter
