The cruel ocean churns Its secrets locked in icy depths Lives lost on chaotic rocks jutting from the spray Tentacles of brutal waves hit the sailors like frozen daggers on heated skin screams of men whipped away by howling winds Swollen black clouds darken the skies blocking the moons silvery rays and plunging the world into darkness With a crack that shakes the vessel the towering mast crashes to the deck its ropes slashing the cool air With a crack and shudder the ragged rocks rip the hull pitching the frightened sailors to the inky black sea below Waves covered the men casting them further into the seas chilly world A sense of silences and calm radiated from the cool water the storms harsh hands could not hurt them here

A soft breath of wind ruffles the water The sun gleaming down on the world making the deep blue ocean glimmer like crystal A cormorant lands lightly on a rock and stands proudly in the warm glow to dry The hectic storm that raged the terrifying night before seemed forgotten replaced by a pleasant morning light
