Strolling down to the beach was exhausting. The day was blisteringly hot and the scalding sun beat down in an unceasing stream of light. Impeccable for a lovely day out. The beach wasn't visible from the small winding path but already our spirits were high and the eagerness strong. Sounds were already slicing their way to our keen ears, shouts of joy from children, and screams as little waves caught people with icy talons. We were going to have a day we would never forget.
We turned the last corner and saw the magnificent beach stretch out under the golden sun. But what caught our attention was the sheer amount of people some were sunbathing, some running, shouting, surfing; all of life before me. The sea extended into a crystal clear expanse and vibrant blue waves crashed on the sandy beach. Towering cliffs outstretched to the heavens glittered with salt in the searing heat.
The next thing that hit us was the salty air and overpowering reek of dried seaweed baking in the noonday sun. My senses were loving the whole experience light, sounds, smells. Even the air felt alive and my heart raced to take part. And take part we were going to do. We looked to our right and saw the incredible sea reflecting the shining sun. We're for it!
We ran into the sea and the frozen water in golfed our feet in its unmerciful bonds. The seawater tingled against our warm feet making them numb. We surged forward into the unsympathetic void of water and it submerged more of our tender skin. Though icy, the water felt nice against our overheated bodies. This was the Start of a day never to forget.
