Towering cold stone walls cast eerie black shadows over the rough path Tripping and stumbling on razor sharp rocks I sprint breathlessly through the terrifying Labyrinth Sweat forms in icy drops on my clammy flesh Curling tentacles of bruised purple cloud roll menacingly over the bright heavens

My heart hammers painfully under my shining steel breastplate as I dash through the disorientating passages My filthy hair sticks to my feverish damp skin

A bleach skeleton lies broken in the dirt It's armour sitting loosely on the fragile bones A discarded sword with dried deep scarlet blood on its merciless blade rests on the stained crimson ground I avert my grey eyes from the chilling scene

Thunderous footfall shakes the dehydrated earth Rasping breath sours the humid air A deafening bellow rips through the daunting maze

I skid to a halt my ragged breath hurting my parched raw throat My throbbing heart raced and my head spun for oxygen Every muscle in my exhausted body burned screaming for me to stop I strained to hear Only silence greeted me Then it came The pelting footfall The foul breath that smells of rotting flesh My drained body tenses Every fibre of my being listening Waiting

The soaring powerful figure spills into the murky corridor Gaping angry wounds cover the beast filthy flesh Taut muscles ripple under his thick skin Putrid air curls from his flared nostrils Ink black murderous eyes glare at me Jagged curling bone white horns flash in the dim light The minotaur clutches a silver blood stained axe in his strong hand

Terror clung to my fiercely beating heart My eyes misted with fear

The emotionless creature charges deadly axe held high

The pale morning sun illuminates the crisscross of stone that made up the walls to the heartless Cretan labyrinth were dwelt the dreadful Minotaur
