Life is not a story. It's not some vulgar mystery to be solved or a happy-ever-after romance or some fantasy adventure involving fairies and monsters in high castles.
Stories are dangerous. They can turn us into lifelong spectators. We spend all our lives looking for fictions. They trick us into relinquishing responsibility for our own narratives.
