A Knight in Shining Armor
I want to go to the Board walk and smell the ocean breeze. I want the wind to blow in my hair and hear the sea gulls calling, while your arm is around my shoulder holding me close. Sheltering me from the wind & gently kissing my lips. I couldn't be happier. With all the noise and clatter, people screaming & laughing on the roller coster. The smell of popcorn and cotton candy & your sweet kisses to keep me warm. I want you to take me on the roller coaster, so I know I'll be safe.
The man says "hop in you two", and off we go. I'm so afraid it's going be way scarier than I thought, but I can't change my mind now. You look into my eyes and say " don't be scared baby I'll hold you" I know you see the terror in my eyes, my mind wildly seeking escape, the click clack of the rails going straight up in the air to the very top, God, I feel that I could start to scream, I want to hold you so badly but my fingers are clinging to the bar for dear life. The car reaches the top and is suspended in time, seconds feel like hours, my heart pounding wildly, and for a moment I feel the warmth of your body next to mine, and I want to cry for the beauty of you and my terror, the lump in my throat more than I can bare. I don't want you to see my cry. Then in an instant we are racing into the sky nothing beneath us. I scream again & again from bottom of my soul, the emotion so raw, I can't hold it in, I can't pretend it isn't real. My hair whipping every which way stinging my eyes and face. I turn to look at your beautiful face and your laughing madly like it was nothing. I must looked like a terrified little girl. You look at me and say " come here baby" and wipe my tears away with your warm fingers, and for the first time I smile. The coaster soars up and down, my fear gone now. I look at the blue Ocean, twinkling like a million stars on a sunny day for as far as i can see, and feel peace in my heart at last. As we stand to leave the ride you put your hand out to me, I reach for you resting safely in your huge strong hand. Looking in your eyes, I see the love you have for me. Just then I realize with perfect clarity, that you are my "Knight in Shining Armor." I Love You Babe.
