The Lake Book: The lake water is so smooth and dark even on a sunlit afternoon. I pull all of life into my body sitting here on the fallen tree at the waters edge. My toes dangling in the cool water as I straddle this huge tree.

The leaves shutter in the breeze and I am soothed at the sound. First only one tree, then one by one the trees all start whispering until the sound reaches a crescendo, surrounding me then.......... gently they taper off.

My ear catches the whistling of the wind through the pines high on the mountain. Nothing else sounds like this, so pure and clean the sound. Their very own music calls me to their look out on the cliff.

Nature teaches me her song and I listen.

Then I hear her screech at the far end of the lake. The Osprey is diving, gaining speed as she falls each second then leveling out over the glistening blue waters, her talons grazing the waters surface, as she speeds silently inches above the water. Stretching her legs forward at the last moment and at lighting speed she grasp her quarry. Pulling hard against the added weight she rises in the air, her nestlings meal held head forward into the wind. She lands with ease on her nest, sitting on the tallest tree over looking the Lake.

Life abounds here nourishing my Soul. For just this one day nature has enveloped me & brought me home again. The time so fleeting, now coming to an end.

The Sun going down over the water reflecting the purple, magenta & gold in the sky.

My camera is full of memories to last a lifetime.

Feeling lighter than air. I make my way back down the trail, in the dusty light to my car and I return to my civilized life.

People ask what I did this weekend and I tell them.......... I turned a beautiful day into a large book of memories.
