The crowd was dancing, with a merry young teenager riding on a beautiful white horse. His name was Ryan. I always had a crush on him. My name is Jonah. This party I am at is the Day the Sun, the first day of summer. I was in blue capris and a t-shirt with scandals.
I was dancing with my friend, Jesse. He was a blonde with a white t-shirt and black capris and brown scandals. We were friends for a long time, even though he is two years older (I'm twelve ).
I was too happy to go home, but tomorrow, I will be thirteen. It was on every birthday of a thirteen, they have their first mixed dance.
When we left, he asked
"Do you want to climb on the tower again?" I nodded yes and we left. They tower was a abandoned radio tower. We always loved to climb on it and see the world from it.
As we climbed it, I saw a red box. So I climbed higher. When I got to it, the box opened and there was a dim blue light. A voice called out,
"If you want to save who you love, you must complete this task. If you don't in three days, he will die."
"I guess I should do it. Since it's to me." I answered. Then a gold slip appeared in my hand.
"Now share with me a memory you favor."
I thought of the dance earlier; of Jesse and Ryan.
"Now," it replied "look at the slip on the second day when you can't bear it."
It then disappeared and Jesse appeared at my side
"Nice spot, Jonah."
I spun around and looked at him
"Did you hear anything?"
Jesse shook his head for a no.
I just lied "Guess it was just my imagination."
After that, Jesse walked me home. I invited him to the party a few days ago.
When we got to my house, he said goodnight and he left. I got to the door when I heard,
"Jonah, can we talk for a sec?"
I turned and saw Ryan.
"Sure."
"It's about the party." my heart fell. I invited him to the party.
"Yes?"
"Can we do the main dance together?"
I almost did backflips. It what the birthday teen and their date will do in front of the guests.
"Sure!" I answered "I would love to!"
"Great! See you tomorrow." he replied and kissed me on the check before leaving. When I got to my room, I flopped on my bed without doing anything else. If I needed save Ryan, this would be easy.
