Flo stared into his eyes. They were welling up, maybe he was as shocked as she was. A tear splashed onto her cheek. She didn't know the hawk was actually clawing at Felix's back. Finally, he turned to the hawk, taking a dagger from his belt. The hawk realised the threat and flew away squawking. Felix kneeled next to Flo who was lying in shock. He gave out a loud sigh, dropping the dagger and it made a clunking noise on the ground. "Felix?" her voice trembled. She searched over him for injury to find large cuts in his back, the blood seeping through his clothes. "FELIX! Your back!" she was starting to panic until he turned round with a smile on his face. This made Flo shut up again. "I'm okay, honest" his smile turned into a grin that spread from ear to ear. She helped him stand up and he winced quietly, trying to hide it. His arm was around her shoulder and they walked back to the horses. "Well, you can't ride in the state your in." she paused for a moment until she had an idea. She propped him up on her horse then she tied his horse to hers. Flo jumped up and Felix clung on to her as she kicked the horse commanding it to trot. Flo knew the forest like the back of her hand and soon they were out of the clearing and onto the grassy meadow. In the distance a large city could be seen and high on the hill was a grand palace. They galloped towards it. When they reached the tall, silver gates two guards spotted them. One was short and fat and the other was tall but seemed to crouch over. "Ahem, I'm sorry ,missee. No one gets into the city unless you are a civilian or trader of any kind." said the short one. The tall one stayed silent. "Excuse me, don't you know who I am?" demanded Flo.
The short one looked up and shook his head. "can't say I do, missee."
"I am Princess Florentina Di Maggio." she snarled.
Felix was almost passing out on her shoulder. "Let me in, this is urgent!"
The two guards sprung into action. "R-right away your majesty!" the two guards said in unison. Flo rolled her eyes as the two silver gates clicked and clanked open. She kicked the horse and it began to walk into a busy market place.
