The loud murmurs of bargains being struck and money being counted surrounded the young princess and her friend. As they passed, people kneeled or even threw flowers in Flo's path. She ignored it, she hated all of this attention. She kicked the horse and it went into a canter. They made there way towards the palace. It towered over the city and as they got closer the shadows became colder. Flo grimaced. She hated the palace. As soon as they reached the gate thy swung open effortlessly, unlike the gate to the city. Behind the gates was a large garden that seemed to run for miles until it came to the foot of a large ,grand palace. The drive was cobbles that were enclosed by tall cyprus trees. to her right, Flo could see the acres of grass but it was empty. Then to her left, the stables. She and Felix made their way towards it. When they reached the stable, Flo jumped off and helped Felix down, resting his arm on her shoulder. "I'll be fine from here." said Felix. As soon has finished the sentence he tried to walk on his own and fell straight into the mud. Flo scrambled to help him, using her sleeve to wipe the mud from his face. "Come on, we need to get you inside." as she said this they both stood up and she helped Felix back onto her horse. Another stable hand came to take Felix's horse to the stable. Flo led her horse onto the cobbles and they made their way towards the palace. They reached the large doors, Flo dropped the reins and stepped up the large stairs. Two guards stood there in a different uniform. The guards at the city gate wore navy tunics and armour but these guards just wore red side-button blazers. No swords at all. As soon as they saw Flo the door flew open gracefully. She helped Felix off the horse and they stepped inside. Felix kept his head low at all times but Flo just strutted up to the grand staircase. The hall was actually used for parties etc as it was huge. The pillars were made of solid gold and the walls were thick marble. Felix looked around in astonishment but Flo thought nothing of it. When they reached the staircase, a loud voice boomed from above. On the east wing landing stood Queen Fillipa. "FLORENTINA!" she rushed down the stairs as though she were floating, she lifted the dress as not to trip. When she met Flo at the bottom she hugged her close almost pushing Felix over. "Florentina! Atleast your safe!" she screeched.

"If course I'm safe, mother." Flo rolled her eyes as she spoke. The Queen let Flo go from her smothering hug. She had regain her breath before she spoke again. "Why are you so worried?"

"No one knew where you were!" the Queens voice was high pitched.

"I was out hun-" Felix pinched Flo's arm "I mean picking flowers." she grinned nudging Felix.

The Queen looked at Felix noticing the blood. "My dear boy!" she said in horror "What ever happened to you?"

Felix's mouth dropped open as he searched for an answer. "I was ... um... horse riding when I fell off into the ... Er...emm."

"Cactuses." said Flo quickly. He stared at her with wide eyes.
