Not sure if this is any good, but I really wanted to continue it!

/05/12 I'm going to stay at Heather's for a bit. Her mum didn't want me too, but with a bit of persuasive talking (and possibly a bit of magic...) we talked her into it. I left yesterday night, and mum still hasn't phoned. To be honest, I don't think she cares that I'm gone. To her, I was just a nuisance, a unnatural, freakish, wrong child with a illness that had to be cured, someone to be ashamed of, to hide away. She never loved me.

/05/12 Heather introduced me to her family today. Family meaning her mother and sister. Her sister is different, like us, but her mother is normal, a human. At first glance, she seems nice, but I've seen the way she treats Heather and Gywn. Locked up for nights on end, only let out when she is sure that they look 'normal', putting on make up to cover Heather's green-tinged skin and Gywn's slightly scaled face. For fear of the same happening to me, I haven't actually talked to her all day. I've stayed up in Heather's room, talking with her and Gywn. Gywn's been planning to leave town with her boyfriend, Charlie, the centaur from school. You know, thinking about it, it's rather weird. A mermaid and a centaur. Gives me hope that I won't lead a loveless life.

/05/12 Charlie came round. He and Gywn left at noon whilst we packed. We're leaving tomorrow. Going to a town that's only inhabited by people like us. I'm so excited! Nervous, but excited.

/05/12 We don't have a car between us, but Charlie managed to get us some horses from the stables he works at. At the moment, I'm resting under a tree, next to Oli, a faerie, like me. He looks so peaceful asleep. One in a million. That's the chance of your male son being a faerie. One in a ten thousand for a female. I'm one of them. 9999 others from my ten thousand are normal, and I'm the odd one out. I'm unique.

/05/12 We've been on the road for two days now, and apparently, we are nowhere near close to the town. I suggested flying, then quickly rejected the idea, considering that most of our group don't have wings. Only me, Oli and Jade do. Well, Jade only has them some of the time. She's an animagus, a shape shifter. A raven. You know, in case someone finds this diary in years to come, I think they might want to know who my fellow travellers are. So, um... Here they are, There's me. (obviously.) Heather. (a tree sprite.) Gywn. (a mermaid.) Oli. (a faerie.) Jade. (an animagus) Charlie. (a centaur) Willow. (a werewolf) Life's looking up for once.

/05/12 Mum phoned. Screaming and shouting. "You stupid child! You're never going to survive without me!" When I told her who I was with she spat at the phone and hung up. I left my phone underneath the tree, where I'll never have to listen to her stupid voice again.

/05/12 We are edging closer to the town, slowly, but we'll get there! My horse, Storm, injured herself and now has a limp, so I had to ride with Willow, the only one with a big enough horse. She's actually really nice. Slightly scary, what with the huge canines, yellow eyes and tendency to howl, but nice. She was attacked when she was 11, and when her parents found out her attacker was a werewolf they abandoned her. Left her to die. After four years in care, she decided that enough was enough and ran away to our town, where she met Heather and co. She couldn't tell me anything about the others, which was a bit disappointing. It would be nice to know who these people really are.
