Sent off to meet him, With a blow to the head, My life is not over, Though I'm lying there, dead,

He greets me kindly, Eyes dark as stars, Hair like the mountains, So near yet far,

I've known him for years, Since I was small, And though I've been ageing, He hasn't at all,

Some say he's a lover, And that I am his bride, Some say he's an angel, Helping those who died,

I know he's a saviour, He saved my soul, Filling my heart up, Making me whole,

It's true that I love him, But does he love me still? Maybe he never did, And he never will,

He takes my pale hand, His eyes full of stars, Twinkling in darkness, But his heart's so far,

For I am in love, With the darknest of night, Death's soul-less bride, Kept away from the light,

Sometimes I miss home, But here I am queen, A royal lost soul, Locked in a dream,

His smile, though it haunts me, Keeps me alive, Without his laughter, I'd never survive,

So here I am now, Dead in my old life, Death's only love, His ghostly wife.
