I screamed, it was so hard to resist. Phillip patted me on the shoulder reassuringly. "Shh, Shh. Calm down, Gywn. Don't panic, it's fine. Just relax, we're not even at the heart of the forest yet." I looked at him, how on earth was I going to manage? He saw my concern, smiled awkwardly, then said; "Just breath slowly and relax. That will calm the wolf down. Then, when you want to transform, you just release the..." He was interrupted by a howl. Something in my brain clicked and the wolf took over.

My heart raced and I flexed my muscles. It was amazing. Everything was deeper than reality, I could smell the tree's story, hear the flower's colours, taste the bird's song. I barked in excitement, but Phillip didn't look happy. He said something I didn't understand, in his human tongue; "Stop, Gywn. Let go of the wolf. Come back, you're not ready yet." I tilted my head to show my confusement. He laughed then he froze, his features deepening, his face turning serious. A voice called from the edge of the forest. I growled. It was the hare woman. Phillip sighed, walked over to me and jabbed me in the side. Whimpering, I started at him. He stared back. The world blurred and my senses dulled, making everything bland and drab. My paws faded to hands and my claws shrunk to nails.

I smiled and waved as Isadora approached. She waved back and shouted; "How's it going? Any limbs broken yet?" I laughed but Phillip was more serious.
