A princess is as she should be, With grace and charm abound.. Chin held high at every spree, Everyday a new look found..
Imprisoned in this identity, A girl with zeal resides.. She seeks no enmity, With her captor she abides..
A desire she has, to break free , From her royal duty prosaic.. She sneaks out to the cherry tree, To paint her dreams' mosaic..
She dreamt of wandering through the green, And exploring the mighty sea.. To calm herself in a place serene, From her royal duties free..
She dreamt of horseback under the sky, In the browning desert sand.. And sailing with a captain wry, Who had a hook for his left hand..
Not enough, her dreams she had seen, when a voice called out her name.. Said "princess dear, where have you been?" "Why do you ruin your fame?"
"Our guests have filled the halls, my dear", "They await your presence there".. "Why have you been wandering here?", "To them, it isnt fair"..
"I do not wish for royalty, "And fame and wealth galore.." The princess said with vanity, "I want but so much more"
"To find my true identity," "And fly to soar the sky.." "To sunder from royalty," "To live without a pry.."
The queen but smiled and said, "A princess is as she should be" "But dear you need not fret" "You can be whatever you wish to be.." Being a princess, yet!
