A young boy walked up to the gate,
Spoke to the guard, went on to state,
" I want to fight in noble wars,
Make a difference, an honest cause!".
The guard, he smiled at young ideals,
The future of the quest reveals,
"all the soldiers from both sides,
School together" he confides.
"all the same from start to end,
Despite the colours and trend".
"find a sponsor, fight their cause"
Jump on bandwagons, never pause".
"Go to battle, use your mouth",
"get a headline, go down south".
"join an army, blue or red"
"all the same, when all is said".
"when games have played, they all forgive",
"Whether Labour or Conservative".
The boy turned 'round and walked away,
"Such stupid games these soldiers play".
