The windscreens glisten from outside my window,

The first frost of winter arrived too soon.

Scarfs and gloves need unpacking from storage,

De-icers and scrapers are back on the shelves.

Caught out again by the sun in the sky,

A sharp frozen breath hits my lungs while outside.

Can you believe that the first frost of winter,

Came before the end of our summer.
