Spencer was guided along the platform by the nozzle of the gun in his back. "Just keep walking" the voice from behind said. Spencer was searching his memories for the familiar voice but couldn't place it. At the end of the platform, they stopped. "This is what's going to happen" the voice instructed as he took the data stick from Spencer's pocket, "you will get on the train and you won't look back. I have a man watching you with orders to kill you if you fail to comply. Tell your friends to stop wasting their time, I won't be caught". Spencer noted the interesting choice of words and agreed to the voice's instructions. He stepped onto the train and tried to look in the glass for a reflection of the man but he was too close behind him. He was well trained. Spencer followed his orders and got off at the next stop before heading back to base.
He followed all the usual protocols. Instructed his seniors of the events in his debrief before heading back to his desk. How could a simple mission fail so spectacularly? Who knew about the drop? And who was the familiar voice? It was time to find out.
