Chapter 16 It's been almost two weeks and we still haven't found anything that would help his memory. We're starting to think its hopeless... But the doctor said we can't give up, and that we will find a way to bring him back. I'm starting to worry though. What if he never remembers me? I have to figure out something that will jog his memory.. I'm too stressed. I decided that now he is awake, I can go home. I still visit him every day. When I get home I go down into my basement and throw in Ariel. I remember the night Josh and I watched this movie. I wish he remembered it too... I want to be able to watch it with him again. Maybe I can? Of coarse he still doesn't remember me but I guess it's worth a shot. So I pack up my fuzzy purple blanket and my Ariel movie and head to the hospital. I put the VCR in the hospital TV and sit on the hospital bed next to Josh. He kinda looks up to me as if he trying to remember. I just wish he would..
Josh's POV: There she is again. She is so gorgeous. Something about her makes me happy, nervous, and crazy. I think we are watching Ariel. I'm trying to remember but nothing comes to my mind. "You don't have to constantly try to remember who you are, just relax." Her voice is soft and gentle. She is right too.. Ever since I woke I've been trying to remember everything. I need a break. I sit back and enjoy the movie. Thats when I really start noticing whats around me. My legs hurt, I want to get up and walk around. I have been trapped in this room for way too long. Ugh, I really need a shower... There is a pile of magazines by me, even though I havent read them yet I know I hate them. Im surronded by pictures that are supposed to jog my memory. I notice the girl next to me is in alot of them. In every one she looks happy and carefree. Her eyes and smile sparkle. "Whats your name?" She smiles and looks at me,"Payton." Her eyes sparkle just like in the pictures. Ariel echos in the background. My focus goes everywhere. First, my jacket, then Payon, Ariel with her bouncy red hair, the purple fuzzy blanket. Everything comes flooding back to me. My name is Josh Paine. I go to Riverbend Middle School. My homeroom teacher is Mrs. Rock. My best friends are Evan and Tyler. I have known Payton my entire life. The other night we watched Little Mermaid in her basement because I pretended to forget my jacket. Payton is the girl I love.
