Not An Artist

Writing and dance, my only expressions
I can't do art, I've tried
I can draw, but my drawings are flat
They don't convey
What I feel inside
Just a girl with balloons
They don't show how she cried
How alone she is
With no friends in which to confide
They don't speak
Don't tell what I have to say
I can copy
But they're not mine anyway
And my copies are lifeless
I turn them gray
Watch
A fleeting moment in time I can slay.
I try
But can't get my hand to obey.
Got the basics
But the eyes lose their spark
Not detailed
I'm not polished in art
Not trained
So I can't make my mark
I guess I'll stick to writing and dance.
